A road accident in Mahisari, within the Ujiarpur police station area of Samastipur district, Bihar, claimed the life of a young man, Shyam Kumar, while a minor girl on the bike was seriously injured. The accident took place at around 11 PM last night, and the injured minor was rushed to the sadar hospital for treatment by police, who also took custody of Shyam’s body for a post-mortem examination.
The deceased, Shyam Kumar, was identified as a resident of Satmalpur Ward 5 in Warisnagar police station area. According to statements from his family, Shyam had visited his sister-in-law’s home in Bulakipur, Dalsinghsarai, to deliver prasad for the Chhath festival. His family claimed he had been staying there for two days prior to the incident. They stated they were unaware of the injured girl or any second biker reportedly involved in the case.
The injured minor girl reported to police that she had left her home in Dalsinghsarai to relieve herself late at night. While in the fields, she alleged, two boys on separate motorcycles forcibly abducted her. She was placed on one of the motorcycles, reportedly ridden by Shyam, when the accident occurred. She stated that she did not know the boys and that the crash led to Shyam’s death. Her account is under police investigation as authorities seek to confirm the exact circumstances.
After arriving at the scene, the police found Shyam’s body under the motorcycle and initiated further procedures, including a forensic examination and eyewitness questioning. Although rumors circulated locally about gunfire at the accident site, police officials denied these claims, affirming that Shyam’s body showed no gunshot wounds.
The case has drawn local attention, with some suggesting the girl may have been attempting to elope with Shyam. However, police have not confirmed these claims and are investigating all aspects of the case, including witness statements and potential CCTV footage from nearby areas.
